Amy Nelson is awkward

For those of you who don't know (and there's probably no reason you should) this is Amy Nelson. Apparently she is a writer for ESPN.com, which I just learned when I looked her up online, but that's not what bothers me about her.

I'm a pretty avid watcher of ESPN First Take, and it's a program that I enjoy a lot. That is until a certain segment called 'Your Take' pops up on my screen. Pretty much it's Amy Nelson, chatting with people who are watching the show. Sounds fine right? Well, that's before you get to Amy being horrible on camera. She is obviously reading off of cue cards, shes nervous and the final straw happened yesterday.

She started calling Shawn Marion, Shawn Mar-ieeeeeen. This was the final straw for me. I already had a hard time watching her because it was so awkward. It had gotten to the point that I actually flip the channel back to ESPN1 and Sportscenter because I just felt bad for the girl. But now that I know that she doesn't know anything about sports, I'm just pissed. Why put an awkward, nervous, know-nothing on one of my favorite shows?

This is a job that I would love to have? ESPN do you hear me? I can be awkward and nervous too on your show! And at least I would know who in the world Shawn Marion was.

Has anyone else out there noticed how awkward she is? Or am I just crazy?

John Madden Football '93

This theme, almost more than anything else, reminds me of my childhood. Madden '93 for Sega Genesis was my first Madden game that I owned, and it was first in a streak of every Madden until 2000.

Looking back on it...this game sucked. Sure it was fun and probably revolutionary, but the game didn't have a NFL license, it didn't have a Player's License either. So instead of using 'HB Pitch' with Barry Sanders of the Lions, I had to use that play with #20 from Detroit. Not the same.

(On that note, has there ever been a more fun play in any football game than 'HB Pitch?' What 8 year old doesn't love gaining at least 30 yards every play and destroying whoever they are playing against?)
